BOE encourages everyone, especially Public School System students, faculty, and staff including PTAs, to actively show their support to those who have committed their lives in service to the nation.
PSS established the JROTC program in 1993 and recruited retired military personnel from the U.S. Army to motivate the young generation to be better citizens while teaching them quality citizenship, character and leadership development program.
PSS launched the Troops-to-Teacher program in 2006 to bring in more teachers to the school system.
The program is a way of assisting military personnel in making teaching a second career.
