THE Marianas Visitors Authority recently partnered with popular South Korean actor Gong Myung for a special photo shoot in The Marianas, capturing the destination’s natural splendor and vibrant charm.
An exclusive cover article titled “Beyond the Blue” and produced in collaboration with the travel and lifestyle magazine hey!TRAVEL highlights Gong’s refreshing and cheerful persona set against the stunning landscapes of Saipan. The hey!TRAVEL Vol. 10 issue also includes a special Marianas edition that shares the stories of local sports enthusiasts from Saipan, Tinian, and Rota.
His team visited iconic sites such as the award-winning emerald waters of Managaha, Micro Beach, and Beach Road pathway — popular among walkers and runners — to fully experience and showcase The Marianas’ natural beauty.
“Spending time in Saipan for this shoot gave me great energy,” said Gong. “I had the chance to experience activities like an ATV tour, snorkeling at the Grotto, and a starlight tour, which helped me discover a new side of The Marianas.”
The shoot also took place at Kensington Hotel Saipan, on a picturesque lagoon cruise, and at various local attractions, including a cozy local restaurant and Santa Remedios church in Tanapag. The resulting photo spread and video content capture the local way of life and diverse charms of the islands.
“The collaboration with Gong Myung and hey!TRAVEL has been beautiful and highly successful in promoting the unspoiled beauty of The Marianas,” said MVA Managing Director Jamika R. Taijerson. “Through public relations project like this and other marketing activities, we continue to highlight the many gems of Saipan, Tinian, and Rota that make us a great place to visit.”
