Governor David M. Apatang will declare Typhoon Condition II for Saipan, Tinian, and Rota at 11 p.m. Saturday night, while Tropical Storm Condition III will remain in effect for Pagan, Alamagan, and Agrihan.
Super Typhoon Bavi is expected to bring dangerous winds, heavy rain, flooding, and life-threatening coastal impacts to the Marianas, with tropical storm-force conditions possible beginning late Sunday. Residents are urged to complete all preparations this evening and remain in safe shelter through sunrise Tuesday.
