The Lady Geckos gained most possessions, with Phalai Frink scoring eight points at their home court. Adele Hudkins missed on two free throws but recovered with a layup. Emily Jones tallied two points and Sophia Tenorio earned one.
The Geckos also include Keriann Callaghan, Audrea Loste, and Seoung Hyun Lee.
Whispering Palms School rallied for six points, narrowing the gap at 11-10 by the second half. Negahr Rastguiy nearly saved WPS with a late-game steal but missed on two jump shots.
It wasn’t long before Frink secured the game with two free throws.
Gabrielle Race slammed a few baskets for Whispering Palms but was unable to recover in the last three minutes. WPS dominated Saipan Community School, 14-4 last Tuesday.
Tomorrow’s scheduled games are: SIS vs. Mount Carmel, SCS vs. Calvary Christian Academy, and Seventh-day Adventist School vs. Grace Christian Academy.
