The Fundamentalist actually snatched the lead from the Konflikts by one shaky point during the first quarter, increased to three secure points during the second quarter, and lost their flame in the second half of the competition.
It was a sure win in the bag for the Konflikts during the second half of the quarter after team Captain Esdrelon nailed 8 points during the third quarter. Helping Esdrelon came teammate Ivan De Vero who scored 5 points to wrench the lead away from the Fundamentalists which was a different story during the second quarter previously.
Ben Petersburg and Eric Cooke each nailed three pointer shots during the second quarter of the game to slice through the competition breezily. They were able to extend their first quarter lead to a more secure ground after working together to hoist themselves above their domineering sister team.
It all came down to the last quarter of the game as the competition was neck and neck during the first five minutes. But Konflikts’ Esdrelon refused to let the Fundamentalists push past them and he started making bold shooting attempts behind the three pointer line with less than three minutes left in the game.
It was all over for the Fundamentalists as Konflikt took charge of the game and they killed the time when the ball was at hand to one minute and twenty-four seconds before Robledo Talania connected to the basket for a jump shot followed by a lay up shot.
Esrelon made sure the opposing team was well aware of his presence his sealed the game with a fade away shot to serve his sister team the upset of the game, 63-57, putting them in second place overall for the entire tournament.
