Thirty-three student finalists from eight public and private schools around the CNMI will be competing to prepare colorful and tasty dishes in five categories: Healthy Snacks, Healthy Salads, Healthy Appetizers, Vegetarian Entrees, and Main Entrees. The students’ dishes will be judged based on the number of colors (fruits and vegetables) used, number of locally sourced fruits and vegetables, nutrient content, creativity, presentation, and taste.
Prizes for the winning student teams include waterpark passes from the Pacific Islands Club, Mega Zone gametime vouchers, gift certificates for fresh local produce from the Sabalu Market provided by the Commonwealth Cancer Association, culinary promotional items from the Public School System, and cash. The schools represented by the winning student teams will also each receive a $500 purchase order for sports equipment from the Public School System.
