The new patrol cars were purchased at a cost of $260,000. The amount was part of the $833,000 grant extended to Palau by Taiwan last December.
Palau President Johnson Toribiong thanked the Taiwan government for the grant.
He said the new vehicles will greatly enhance the mobility of the police and further help maintain peace and order in this island nation.
Since the new cars are not equipped with radios, the radios from old patrol cars that are no longer used will be installed.
The new patrol vehicles were formally turned over to Bureau of Public Safety Director Norvert Yano by Taiwan Ambassador to Palau Maggie Tien.
