NMC institutional researcher completes professional development

The academy is a series of online courses designed for community college institutional research professionals.

Hacskaylo was awarded a certificate of completion for the courses she took during the Fall 2010, Foundations of Data Management and Foundational Statistics for Decision Support.

The courses were partially funded by the Data & Decisions Academy Presidential Scholarship Hacskaylo received.

Hacskaylo qualified for the competitive scholarship based on her application, letter of interest, and a nomination from NMC interim President Lorraine T. Cabrera.

“We are very proud of Lisa’s accomplishment,” said Cabrera. “Over the years she has been a dedicated team member in NMC’s accreditation efforts, as well our efforts to improve and advance the college.”

Cabrera added “The knowledge and skills Lisa has gained from this experience will enable her to further assist the college community make data-informed decisions more effectively.”

The Data & Decisions Academy offers courses through the AIR and is committed to building capacity in institutional research and data use at two-year institutions.

The academy aims to provide participants with a unique learning opportunity in which they acquire skills and knowledge to better perform as institutional research functions at their respective institutions.
