Luciano L. Dereas was sentenced by then-Chief Judge Alex R. Munson on Sept. 9, 2009 to serve 18 months imprisonment in federal prison followed by three years supervised release.
Designated Judge Robert C. Naraja granted the request of the Federal Probation Office, and ordered the release of Dereas’ passport to U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement for removal proceedings.
On or about Sept. 6, 2006, Dereas aided and assisted the filing of a false tax return of a filer who did not live in Arkansas, and who was supposedly entitled to the Earned Income Tax Credit in the amount of $5,480.
