She said the House of Representatives already approved Rota Local Bill 17-37 which allocates funding for the commission.
Rota has one casino, but it’s not doing well.
The appropriated funds will allot $13,000 for legal counsel, $14,000 for an inspector, $8,000 for office furniture and equipment and $3,000 for communication.
Commission executive director Alfred Antolin Jr. is hoping Gov. Benigno R. Fitial will sign the appropriation bill.
“We need more than that,” he said, adding that the commission submitted a budget of more than $300,000 for its operation.
Santos, who authored the local bill, said the chair of the commission will be the expenditure authority for the funds.
