The Kick Butt Day parade was first held here in 2005 according to the Department of Public Health officials who launched the event.
Yesterday was Public Health and its Community Guidance Center’s 6th Kick Butts Day March and Rally.
The community members gathered at the Mount Carmel Cathedral field and marched toward Hopwood Junior High School.
Eight organizations provided health exhibits: Subway, Foremost, the Division of Youth Services, Public Health’s Comprehensive Cancer Control Program, the Diabetes Coalition, the Ayuda Network and the Joeten-Kiyu Public Library.
Tobacco is currently the leading cause of death among young adults.
