“Governor Fitial and I extend our condolences to Mrs. Lovinia Ogarto, their children, and the entire family of the late Isidro R. Ogarto.
“Sid, as he was fondly called, was very instrumental in the development of the Health and Vital Statistics Office at Public Health during his time there.
He was actively involved with local and federal stakeholders in efforts aimed at developing statistical data to assist policy makers view the trend of particular information such birth rates, death rates, growth rates by ethnicity, and casualty of death. Mr. Ogarto’s office was also charged with the issuance of certified copies of certificates or records, search of files or records when no copy is made, or for copies of information provided for research, statistical or administrative purposes.
“As I understand it, Sid and his colleagues had already reached the tail end of a monumental undertaking that would revolutionize the automation of critical records to provide users with technological access to pertinent data.”
“Mr. Ogarto’s untimely passing is a deep loss for his colleagues and the commonwealth. He will be missed.”
