Ray’s tames Lions in Little League majors, 14-0

The YCO Corporation-sponsored Ray’s bagged their first run from JD Delos Santos, who reached the home plate right before a strike out from teammate Philip Kapileo.

The Ray’s improved to 7-0 by the second inning, landing runs from Manny Esepon, Ramnes Karben, Delos Santos, Peterson Rengil, N-Nes, and Jose Pangelinan.

A fly ball from Lions’ short stop Jesse Kalen was caught by Karben. First baseman Liam Teregeyo reached the second base but was stopped in his tracks when teammates Marc Maranda and Kobe Tomokane struck out.

Neither team scored in the third inning. The match stopped at the bottom of the fourth via mercy rule. The Ray’s thrived on 14 hits and five base-on-balls while pitcher N-Nes tallied three strike outs.

The Junior Police Officer Program’s JPO Enforcers defeated team Docomo A’s, 6-1 in an earlier game.

Starz fall to IT&E, 9-2

Meanwhile, the Big League’s Northern Starz fell to IT&E, 9-2 at the Francisco ‘Tan Ko’ Palacios Baseball Field.

IT&E’s Jonathan Celis lucked out on an error by Starz’ John Salas and reached the scoring position while Villagomez struck a double. Both players reached the home plate right before the third out made by Marvin Ngeskebei.

The Starz scored their first run from right fielder Chris Meyers, following an error from Maratita.

IT&E – also known as the Fielders – secured their win with a 7-1 lead at the top of the third inning. Celis struck a single while Villagomez reached the first base on a base-on-ball. Maratita posted two RBI doubles and returned to the home plate thanks to third baseman Tom Agulto. Agulto hit a single and stole his way to third base before scoring another run.

IT&E pitcher Nathan Guerrero ended the game with five strike outs.
