CUC Executive Director Abe Utu Malae said the training will provide important knowledge and skills that are essential for power personnel in performing their duties and responsibilities.
He said the training will be conducted by AVO Training Institute Inc.
CUC human resources manager Frankie Cepeda said the two CUC personnel will join Guam Power Authority staff in the training sessions.
The participants from CUC are foreperson Leroy K. Greenman and trades technician Ibutirang Mongami.
While CUC has lots of substation to maintain, it has no any staff that has undergone such training, Cepeda said.
The hands-on and lecture substation maintenance certification program started on Feb. 7 and will end on Feb. 25.
Cepeda said the Guam Power Authority has scheduled the training for its personnel but invited CUC to participate instead of asking AVO Training Institute to conduct a separate training on Saipan.
The training will be conducted by James D. Smith, a senior training specialist who has over 30 years experience in electrical utility industry.
