The individuals who completed the training are Lilia Lizama, Samantha Amog, Edward San Nicolas, Jerica Ocaya, Colleen Manibusan, Janessa Santos, Sheila Okaruru, Belinda Adao, Brian Dicsion, Zelma Santos, Juavalyn San Nicolas, Joey Songao, Leilis Kaipat, Viola Igisaiar, Peter John Tudela, Berna Lotoc, Francine Santiago, and Elizabeth Kaipat. They completed the training program in three months.
The basic workforce development skills training consists of courses that are designed to improve individual knowledge and specific skills. These short-term courses are geared around actual workforce needs and are based on course surveys, community need assessments, and employer interviews.
“The courses offered in the training were designed to help an individual capitalize on the skills necessary to succeed in the local workforce,” said CDI Director David Attao. “We are constantly developing programs to serve the CNMI workforce in order to promote economic growth.”
WIA is a federal program designed to meet the needs of businesses, job seekers, and others who want to further their careers through employment trainings. Upon completion of training at NMC, many of the participants are referred to various businesses in both the public and private sectors.
CDI is a program under the NMC Division of Community Programs and Services and has been providing a range of specialized academic courses, non-traditional courses, customized training, outreach and extended program services, personal enrichment, and community-based learning that are accessible and affordable to the general public.
