Marianas Pitbull Alliance press relation and marketing officer Norman del Rosario said preparations for upcoming events will be discussed during the meeting.
The Marianas Pitbull Alliance is Saipan’s official pitbull club, the counterpart of the 671 Bully Club on Guam.
Del Rosario said registration is still open for membership and one does not even have to have a pitbull to join the club.
He said individuals who own pitbulls that are registered or unregistered with the United Kennel Club are also welcome. The UKC is the largest all-breed performance-dog registry in the world established in 1898, registering dogs from all 50 states and 25 foreign countries.
Del Rosario said although they will not be holding any show or exhibition, they are inviting photographers who would like to take photos of the dogs to come and join them on Sunday.
Del Rosario said they will be submitting their documents to register the association with the CNMI Department of Commerce as a non-profit organization.
Association president Vin Sablan of Kulan Zamu Kennels earlier told the Variety that they wanted to spread awareness to the community that “pitbulls are one of the friendliest breed of dogs around and not to be feared.”
Other officers of the group are Pete Sablan of Chokechain Pitbull Kennel, vice president; Edong Elenzano of El Drako Kennels, secretary; and Gordon Salas of Figo Kennels, board member.
