DEQ’s Aric Bickel said members of the Marine Mammal Response Network will also speak about whales, dolphins, and other marine mammals that are found in CNMI waters and how the community can help support the conservation of these animals.
Bickel is urging everyone to come early and see the exhibits in the Visitor Center lobby and the Pacific Historic Park bookstore whose proceeds go to support the park’s community programs.
With an 80-minute runtime, “Oceans” chronicles the mysteries that lie beneath the ocean’s surface.
Directors Jacques Perrin and Jacques Cluzaud dive deep into the waters that sustain all of mankind and explore the harsh reality and the amazing creatures that live beneath the surface of the sea.
Captured by the latest underwater technologies, “Oceans” gives the viewers an unprecedented look beneath the sea. The film is narrated by Pierce Brosnan.
First Friday Film is a monthly series offered free to the community through a partnership with the National Park Service and DEQ, with generous support from community groups such as the Mariana Islands Nature Alliance.
The program started in July last year and organizers are happy to note that the community is taking an interest in environmental movies.
