THE Padres continued to improve their record as the playoffs of the 2025 Saipan Baseball League draw near, earning their sixth win with a 19-1 victory over the Orioles in a game held  Monday at the Francisco “Tan Ko” Palacios Baseball Field.

The Padres entered the game with confidence, establishing control in the top of the first inning. The Orioles walked two of the Padres’ first three batters, putting runners on first and second base. At fourth at-bat, Darion Jones capitalized with a single that brought in MJ Aldan, followed by Jordan Suel, who added an RBI double. Jones’ hit helped extend the Padres’ offensive barrage, with Austin Benavente, Jonah Flores, and Ben Flores each driving in a run. The Orioles failed to respond in the bottom half, leaving the Padres with a comfortable 7-0 lead.

In the top of the second inning, the Padres added nine more runs, aided by defensive errors by the Orioles, extending their lead to 16-0.

A pitching change in the third inning appeared to improve the Orioles’ defense, as they recorded three consecutive outs, but they failed to score.

The Padres returned in the fourth inning with three more runs, highlighted by RBIs from Jones, Suel, and Keith Kintol, stretching the lead to 19-0. With the Orioles at risk of the10-run mercy rule, they managed to score only one run before the Padres secured the final three outs, ending the game after four innings with a 19-1 victory.
