MARIANAS High School celebrated triple wins on Tuesday, as all three of their teams won their opening matches in the girls high school division of the PSS-NMIVA Interscholastic Volleyball League SY25-26 at the MHS gym.
MHS III showed their strength at the junior varsity level, edging Saipan International School II in a tense three-set match. SIS II struggled in the first set, committing unforced errors, short serves, and miscommunications, which MHS III capitalized on to take the set, 21-4.
The second set saw a shift in momentum, with SIS II improving their defense and ball control, led by Jiayi Li, Faith Arriola, and Charlotte Beagle. They captured the set, 21-19, forcing a decisive third set.
In the final set, both teams exchanged leads, but MHS III stayed composed. With crucial points scored by Richelle Sune, Kamille Camacho, Angelina George, and Shaenna Yamada, the team secured the set and match, 15-10.
MHS II also triumphed in a three-set battle against Mount Carmel School II, 21-17, 20-22, 15-13, while Kagman High School II defeated Saipan Southern High School II in straight sets, 21-16, 21-9.
At the varsity level, Marianas High School prevailed over Grace Christian Academy, 21-18, 11-21, 15-8, while Mount Carmel School outlasted Agape Christian School Marianas High 23-21, 21-11.
