BLACK 8 Ideal Signs Rustler and Black 8 Noypi Strikers continued their climb up the standings in the Tuesday division of the 2025 SBA Budweiser Open 8-Ball League, each narrowly escaping with victories in their respective matches.

Rustler remain in pursuit of the No. 1 spot after edging Last Shot Hobbies Sharks, 7-6, at Last Shot Bar, improving their record to 12-2.

Roman Rodriguez gave Rustler an early spark, winning the opening game of the Singles 8-Ball set and leaving Sharks’ Marc Brian Nelvis with one ball remaining. Sharks quickly responded, however, as Frankie Blas, PJ Ramos, and Drake Taitano captured the next three games to take a 3-1 lead.

Rustler fought back in the Partners 8-Ball set. Chester Hamoy and Rodriguez won the first game, leaving Sharks’ Rolly Villanueva and Nolan Cultura with two balls. But Albert Pangilinan and Robert Sanciangco were unable to maintain momentum, dropping the next game and tying the set 1-1.

In the second Singles 8-Ball set, Rowel “Cobra” Mariano and Hamoy won the first two games, while Sharks’ Ramos and Nelvis claimed the final two, keeping Rustler within striking distance at 6-4.

With their backs against the wall, Rustler mounted a rally. Team chemistry shone through as Hamoy and Mariano, along with Pangilinan and Rodriguez, swept the second Partners 8-Ball set, tying the match 6-6. In the deciding game, Sanciangco and Hamoy defeated Cultura and Nelvis with one ball left, securing Rustler’s 7-6 win over Sharks.

Noypi Strikers vs Crooked Arrow

Black 8 Noypi Strikers faced a similar challenge, narrowly defeating Black 8 Crooked Arrow, 7-6.

The Noypi Strikers stumbled early, losing 1-3 in the opening Singles 8-Ball set. After splitting the next two sets, they mounted a late-game rally. Domino Antonio and Jonathan Soriano, paired with Rey Torres and Lito Pangilinan, swept the second Partners 8-Ball set, while Torres and Oliver Gragasin combined to defeat Crooked Arrow’s Soriano and Rey Hermogenes in the final game to seal the victory.

Both the Rustlers and Noypi Strikers demonstrated resilience and clutch performance under pressure, keeping fans on the edge of their seats in a thrilling night of 8-ball action.
