Hopwood teams triumph in boys soccer

HOPWOOD Middle School’s varsity and junior varsity teams notched separate victories in the boys middle school division of the PSS-NMIFA Interscholastic Soccer League SY24-25 at the NMI Soccer Training Center in Koblerville on Tuesday.

HMS V blew past Saipan Community School, 13-0.

HMS V showcased complete dominance as goals poured in throughout the match. Within the first 10 minutes, five goals were scored — led by Justin Molinar and Eric Palacios Jr., who netted two each, along with a goal from Franko Tudela.

In the next 10 minutes, five more goals were added, with Tudela contributing two to complete his hat-trick, joined by goals from Aldric Antonio and Palacios.

The rest of the Hopwood squad got in on the action, with Napu Pangelinan and Jed Cornista making the highlight reel by scoring the final two goals to finish off SCS.

HMS V vs MCS

HMS JV pounded Mount Carmel School to the ground, 7-1.

HMS JV controlled the first half with four goals, while Zian Lavarias closed out the second half with a hat-trick, contributing two of the team’s three additional goals.

MCS went down fighting, as Damien Concepcion managed to sneak in a goal at the 40-minute mark.

Also joining the winner’s circle were Tanapag Middle School, which trounced Chacha Ocean View Middle School, 12-3, and Dandan Middle School, which blanked Francisco M. Sablan Middle School, 4-0.
