Saipan International School V delivered an attacking masterclass on Tuesday, defeating Mount Carmel School with a dominant 7-2 victory to earn their first win of the PSS-NMIFA Interscholastic Soccer League SY25-26 at the NMI Soccer Training Center in Koblerville.
The match began with immediate intensity, both teams battling for possession. After a series of exchanges, SIS V gradually seized control, capitalizing on a scoring opportunity as William Lee drew first blood in the 12th minute.
MCS responded quickly, staging a comeback led by Jin Eo, who leveled the match just two minutes later. However, SIS V regained the advantage with a goal from Matthew Hwang in the 16th minute, moving ahead 2-1.
Despite a closely fought first half, SIS V put on a clinic throughout the second half.
SIS V’s teamwork and defensive coverage proved crucial as every player contributed effectively. Xavier Lee sparked the attack with the team’s third goal in the 56th minute, followed by scores from Eunchan Ko (62nd), Taiga Namai-Scoggins (64th), and Nash Santos (67th) to put the lead out of reach.
MCS continued to fight but couldn’t find the net for the remainder of the match. SIS V’s Namai-Scoggins capped the scoring with their seventh goal, sealing a convincing 7-2 victory—their first win of the season.
Last Thursday, SIS’s younger squad, SIS JV, also celebrated a win after edging Saipan Southern High School JV, 4-2
