A 57-year-old man is in critical condition at the Commonwealth Healthcare Corporation’s Intensive Care Unit after being struck by a pickup truck Sunday evening in Garapan.

The collision occurred at approximately 7:51 p.m. on Dec. 14, 2025. The Department of Public Safety’s 911 dispatch received the report, which took place in the southbound lanes of Chalan Pale Arnold Road in front of Century Hotel.

Preliminary investigations indicate that the driver of a 2017 Toyota Tacoma, a 39-year-old man, was traveling southbound in the outer lane when the pedestrian ran onto the roadway. He was attempting to cross the street toward the entrance of the upper MIHA housing area.

The vehicle struck the man, who suffered serious injuries, including a fractured right arm and head trauma. He was transported to CHCC for emergency medical treatment.

In a press release Monday, DPS Public Information Officer Fred Sato said the incident remains under investigation.

“Additional information will be released as it becomes available,” Sato added.
