(PSS) — The Public School System is proud to announce outstanding results from the Fall 2025 Certiport Student Certification Exams with an overall pass rate of 93% across all participating schools.
A total of 103 students attempted industry-recognized certification exams last semester, and 96 students successfully earned their certifications. Students from Marianas High School, Dr. Rita Hocog Inos Junior Senior High School, Tinian Middle School and Tinian High School, Admiral Herbert G. Hopwood Middle School, and Da’ok Academy participated in certification testing in areas such as IT Specialist (HTML and CSS), IC3 Spark, and IC3 Digital Literacy.
Certiport is a leading provider of performance-based certification exams that validate real-world skills in technology, business, finance, digital literacy, and industry-leading software, including Microsoft Office, Intuit, Adobe, and more. These certifications are globally recognized and aligned to workforce standards, ensuring students demonstrate measurable competencies in computing fundamentals, productivity tools, online communication, and web development.
This school year also marked an important milestone for PSS as middle school participation served as a pilot initiative within the PSS K-12 College and Career-Connected System. Students at Admiral Herbert G. Hopwood Middle School and Dr. Rita Hocog Inos Junior Senior High School achieved exceptional results, with several groups earning 100% pass rates. The success of this pilot demonstrates that middle school students are not only capable of meeting industry standards but can thrive when given early access to high-quality, credential-aligned instruction.
Introducing industry-recognized certifications at the middle school level builds confidence, strengthens foundational digital literacy skills, and creates early awareness of college and career pathways. For many students, earning a Certiport credential represents their first nationally recognized certification, an accomplishment that can be added to their academic portfolio and future resume.
PSS leadership commends the dedication of Career and Technical Education teachers and the determination of students across the district. The Fall 2025 results reflect a growing culture of excellence, innovation, and workforce readiness throughout CNMI public schools.
