(SINMI) — The Soroptimist International Northern Mariana Islands Chapter is proud to announce its upcoming Live Your Dream or LYD Gala, taking place this Saturday, Feb. 21, 2026, from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Bravo Kitchen & Bar.
This special luncheon celebrates the resilience, determination, and success of women in the Commonwealth through Soroptimist’s signature Live Your Dream Award program. Tickets are $50 per person, which include lunch and beverages. Proceeds directly support the club’s mission to empower women and girls in the Northern Marianas and will be reinvested into the next Live Your Dream award recipients.
This year, the Chapter is honored to award four outstanding women, recognizing their excellence, perseverance, and commitment to building a better future for themselves and their families.
“As a past recipient of this scholarship, I know firsthand the impact it can have. I’m humbled to now serve as a member of Soroptimist and help carry this initiative forward — but it is truly our partners and donors who make it possible. Thank you for continuing to believe in and invest in this life-changing program year after year,” said Mercilynn Kaneshi Palec, 2018 Live Your Dream scholarship recipient.
Mercilynn went on to receive her Associate’s Degree in 2019, her Bachelor’s Degree from Northern Marianas College in 2020, and her Master’s Degree from the University of Guam in 2023 — an inspiring example of what investment in women can achieve.
Soroptimist is committed to empowering women and girls through education, mentorship, and opportunity.
“Our mission is rooted in the belief that when you uplift a woman, you uplift a family and an entire community. Through your generosity and participation, we are able to give women a hand up, not a handout, so they can pursue their dreams and create lasting change for themselves and their children. Together, we can make a meaningful difference in the life of another woman or girl here in the NMI,” said LYD Chairwoman Kimm Camacho.
