MATANSA Football Club remains the team to beat in the U17 boys division of the TakeCare Youth Soccer League Spring 2025, extending their streak to six wins after silencing the Women’s Development Team, 9-0, at the NMI Soccer Training Center in Koblerville on Saturday.

Matansa excelled at applying pressure. As soon as the ball dropped, the team went for the kill. Within eight minutes, they caused enough havoc to force the Women’s DT into losing possession, resulting in an own goal that handed Matansa the early lead.

For the next 20 minutes, the WDT managed to keep up with Matansa’s pace. However, their resistance was only temporary, as they were eventually overwhelmed by Matansa’s relentless pressure. Bennet Haro and Nolan Ngewakl scored separate goals in the 33rd and 34th minutes to extend the lead to 3-0.

In the second half, Matansa continued their forward pressure. Although WDT stood their ground and disrupted several incoming attacks, fatigue eventually took its toll, diminishing their ability to fight back.

Matansa scored six more goals, with Eleazir Mettao, Brandon Teigita, and Jayvin Bisek leading the offensive charge. WDT scored another own goal and ultimately had to settle for a 9-0 defeat.
