Saipan International School holds National Honor Society induction ceremony

(SIS) — Saipan International School held its National Honor Society, National Junior Honor Society, and National Elementary Honor Society induction ceremony on Feb. 26, 2026, at Crowne Plaza Resort. These honor societies are among the nation’s premier organizations, recognizing outstanding elementary, middle, and high school students who demonstrate excellence in scholarship, leadership, character, citizenship, and service.

Membership in NHS, NJHS, and NEHS requires students to meet rigorous standards. At Saipan International School, candidates must maintain a minimum GPA of 3.7 and undergo a comprehensive selection process. Students are evaluated on their character, leadership, citizenship, and service to the school and community, with final selection determined by a five-member faculty council.

Parents, guests, and teachers gathered to celebrate the achievements of the inductees. The ceremony began with the lighting of a white candle, symbolizing the ideals of the honor societies. Led by formally dressed current members, 10 NJHS, 16 NHS, and 9 NEHS inductees entered the venue, received candles, recited the honor society pledges, and were formally welcomed into their respective organizations.

Headmaster Martin Jambor welcomed the guests and emphasized the significance of the honor societies and the accomplishments of the students.

“We are incredibly proud of our students for achieving this distinguished honor. Their induction into the National Honor Society reflects not only their academic excellence, but also their character, leadership, and commitment to serving others. I would also like to congratulate the parents and guardians, whose constant support and encouragement have been essential to their children’s success. In addition, I wish to recognize our dedicated teachers at Saipan International School, whose hard work, passion, and commitment to excellence continue to inspire our students every day. This achievement is truly a shared accomplishment for our entire school community,” Jambor said.

Adviser Ingur Lee highlighted the five ideals of the honor societies and presented the candidates. Current members welcomed the inductees by passing candlelight and offering their congratulations. The warm reception from families, faculty, and students marked the meaningful one-hour ceremony.
