KANOA 1 and Matansa football clubs trounced their respective opponents to improve their win-loss records going into the playoffs of the TakeCare Youth Soccer League Spring 2025, U14 boys division at the NMI Soccer Training Center in Koblerville.
Kanoa 1 still sits at the top of the leaderboards after collecting their fourth win of the season by blanking their sibling team, Kanoa 2, 10-0.
Kanoa 1 controlled the possession as well as the pace throughout the entire match.
Benaiah Murphy was a force to be reckoned with, drawing first blood just two minutes into the game and completing a hat-trick with two more goals in the 10th and 20th minutes. Teammates Jacob Borja and Michael Borja Jr. also found the back of the net in the 6th and 30th minutes, respectively, as their team seized a comfortable 5-0 lead by halftime.
While Kanoa 2 had no answer, the rest of Kanoa 1’s players took the opportunity to get in on the action during the second half.
Ronald Manabat reignited his team’s momentum with a goal in the 35th minute, while Aldric Antonio added two more in the 40th and 46th minutes. Izaiah Tenorio scored in the 42nd minute, and Murphy completed the second hat-trick of the day with his third goal in the 50th minute, sealing the game with Kanoa 1 barely breaking a sweat, 10-0.
Matansa vs Paire
Matansa Football Club dominated Paire Football Club, 9-1.
At first, both teams were evenly matched, with MFC’s Eleazir Mettao scoring the first goal in the sixth minute, while PFC’s Yu Ma equalized 15 minutes later to tie the game, 1-1.
However, for PFC, that was their only goal of the match. MFC continued to press forward and were rewarded for their efforts with a hat-trick by Mettao, who scored in the 22nd, 24th, and 27th minutes to give his team a 4-1 lead.
In the second half, MFC’s Brandon Teigita scored in the 32nd minute while Mettao resumed his dominance with four more goals in the 36th, 46th, 48th, and 49th minutes to secure the victory, 9-1.
Shirley’s vs Latte
Shirley’s Football Club managed to hang onto its second-place spot in the overall standings after Latte Football Club accidentally scored an own goal, giving Shirley’s a 1-0 win.
