SIS trounces GCA, 40-21

SAIPAN International School bagged their first win on Wednesday by outplaying Grace Christian Academy, 40-21, in the boys high school division of the PSS-NMIBF Interscholastic Basketball League SY24-25 at the Gilbert C. Ada Gymnasium.

The difference in skills was established in the first half, with SIS emerging as the superior team.

SIS’ Daniel Joab started the offensive run with the first two buckets while Aiden Camacho powered his way through the paint, delivering two buckets of his own, including an and-one play to hand SIS the early lead.

Through grit and relentless effort, GCA started to find their groove, with Briston Jones hitting a triple. Julian Taitano added four consecutive points, while Ayden Yumul and JiaHao Yang made their presence felt in the paint, contributing a combined six points.

For their part, Theo and Omari Joab doubled SIS’ productivity, sinking back-to-back treys and outmuscling the post to maintain a comfortable distance, 20-14.
