NMIBF board election, membership meeting set for April 21

(NMIBF) —  The Northern Mariana Islands Basketball Federation invites the general public and all active basketball club members to its upcoming General Membership Meeting and board of directors election, scheduled for Tuesday, April 21, 2026, at 5:30 p.m. in the Gilbert C. Ada Gymnasium conference room.

The session will open with a presentation by the outgoing NMIBF president, featuring a comprehensive financial report and the proposed 2026–2028 Strategic Plan. This roadmap is designed to guide the incoming leadership in the continued development and growth of basketball across the CNMI.

Following the presentation, the floor will open for nominations to fill five available seats on the board of directors.

Nomination and eligibility requirements

To ensure a fair and transparent election process, nominees must meet the following criteria:

• Nominees must be bona fide residents of the CNMI for a minimum of two years.

• Nominees must be nominated by one of the current active CNMI basketball clubs, which include Mad Flex, Ol’Aces, Prime, and Rollers Club.

• Nominees must attend the meeting in person to acknowledge and accept their nomination.

Voting procedure

The election will be decided by the active member clubs. Each of the four active clubs will receive one valid vote per voting round.

The NMIBF encourages all interested community members and basketball enthusiasts to attend this pivotal meeting to learn more about the federation’s future and to support the growth of the sport in the CNMI.
