TEAM Bridge Capital topped the 3rd Annual Division of Youth Services Strike Out Child Abuse Softball Tournament, held at the Capital Hill Ball Field from March 9 to 13, 2026.

DYS officials and staff were grateful for favorable weather throughout the week, which allowed games to continue each night with strong community support. “It was another successful tournament,” DYS said.

Team Blue Jays took second place, while Team Warriors secured third place. A total of 11 teams participated this year. The other teams were: TGN,  Medicaid,  YG, CPS, Kimichi Base, Relentless, Regulators, and Chiwiwis.

The tournament continues to grow each year, reflecting the community’s commitment to raising awareness about child abuse prevention and the importance of protecting children in the CNMI.

DYS expressed gratitude to Senate Floor Leader Donald Manglona, who volunteered nightly as scorekeeper, and to other members of the 24th Legislature for their continued support of the event and its mission. Legislators who helped make the tournament possible included Senate President Karl King-Nabors, Sen. Paul A. Manglona, Rep. Blas Jonatan T. Attao, Speaker Edmund S. Villagomez, Rep. Ralph N. Yumul, Rep. Denita Yangetmai, and Rep. Vincent Aldan.

Volunteers Lester Manglona, Ceejay Brandon Echalico, and Kenneth P. Aldan were recognized for their ongoing dedication, ensuring the event’s success each year. Local vendors Benki and Island Grindz also supported the tournament nightly, while Kyle Hocog of NXTLVL Media captured highlights of the games.

DYS additionally thanked volunteer umpires, especially Mac Masaharu and Froilan Jr. Camacho, for their continued contributions to keeping the tournament running smoothly.

“Most importantly, we thank our community, whose continued support makes this event meaningful,” said DYS Child Protective Services Supervisor Mariah Manglona. “The turnout this year showed that many people are willing to come together for a good cause and to stand united for the safety and well-being of our children.”

She added, “DYS is grateful to everyone who participated, volunteered, sponsored, and supported the event. Events like this remind us that protecting children is a shared responsibility, and together, the CNMI continues to stand strong for our youth.”
