Tinian receives first S.T.R.O.N.G. Roof for storm-damaged home

On Tuesday, May 12, 2026, Gov. David M. Apatang, the Governor’s Authorized Representative Patrick Guerrero, Federal Coordinating Officer Andrew Grant, Defense Coordinating Officer Capt. Harry Elliott, and officials from the Federal Emergency Management Agency, U.S. Department of War, and U.S. Army Corps of Engineers visited Tinian for the installation of the island’s first S.T.R.O.N.G. Joined by Tinian Mayor Edwin Aldan at the site, U.S. Seabees began work on a new temporary roof in San Jose Village in coordination with federal partners. Residents whose homes were rendered uninhabitable due to storm damage may qualify for temporary roof repairs. The program is also available for rental properties with owner authorization.

Survivors seeking assistance are encouraged to register through their respective mayor’s office.
