SHS celebrates 2 years with free medicine and discounted vaccines

Saipan Humane Society’s second anniversary celebration is coming to a close this month, but residents can still take advantage of promotions on pet medicine at SHS’ Garapan clinic.

Saipan Humane Society’s second anniversary celebration is coming to a close this month, but residents can still take advantage of promotions on pet medicine at SHS’ Garapan clinic.

THE Saipan Humane Society reminds the public that promotional prices on pet medicine are still available as part of its second anniversary celebration.

Throughout February, clients who purchase a three-month supply of Simparica Trio will receive an additional six-month supply for free. The medication protects dogs from fleas, ticks, heartworms, and intestinal worms.

DHPP and FVRCP vaccines are also available. The DHPP vaccine protects dogs from distemper, hepatitis, parvovirus, and parainfluenza, while the FVRCP vaccine protects cats from feline viral rhinotracheitis, calicivirus, and panleukopenia.

Owners who bring in their newest pet can receive one month of free preventative medicine if they are already an SHS client.

The SHS clinic, located on Angaha Street in Garapan, will be open from Tuesday, Feb. 25 to Friday Feb. 28. Call (670) 233-7387 for more information.

Ruby Ma, clinic manager, said their anniversary celebration was part of a bigger picture of providing healthcare to pets on island.

“When we started SHS, our goal was simple — to ensure that every pet on our island has access to basic healthcare. Two years later, we are beyond grateful for the support that has made this possible,” she said. “This celebration is not just about us — it’s about every pet owner who believes in giving animals a healthier and happier life.”

SHS was founded in 2023 by Ma and Lauren Cabrera. Since then, the organization has hosted numerous spay and neuter clinics conducted by visiting veterinarians with support from the Banfield Foundation. According to the SHS website, the nonprofit has spayed and neutered over 1,000 pets and administered more than 3,000 vaccines since it started.
