(BECQ) — The Bureau of Environmental and Coastal Quality reminds all residents that illegal dumping is prohibited and will be penalized in accordance with applicable laws and regulations. Improper disposal of household waste and other materials can harm our environment, public health, and community safety.
All household trash must be properly disposed of at permitted disposal facilities. Residents are encouraged to utilize the Department of Public Works transfer station, which remains open to receive residential waste.
Residential disposal fees at the DPW Transfer Station have been waived until further notice.
“We appreciate everyone’s cooperation in keeping our island clean and safe. Violations of illegal dumping regulations may result in enforcement actions, fines, and penalties.:
For a cleaner and healthier community, please dispose of your waste responsibly and report any illegal dumping activities to the Division of Environmental Quality.
