Chacha stuns Tanapag in girls fastpitch softball, 16-14

CHACHA Ocean View Middle School bested the defending champions, Tanapag Middle School, 16-14, in a girls middle school division game of the PSS-NMISA Interscholastic Fastpitch Softball League SY24-25 at the Dandan softball field on Saturday.

Both teams aimed to establish control in the opening inning.

Chacha’s Marijo Welson connected on a double that brought in two RBIs before getting picked off at third. In the bottom half, TMS sparked a rally with six runs, highlighted by Faith’s two-RBI inside-the-park home run to take the lead, 6-2.

In the top of the second inning, Chacha returned the favor with a mix of walks and hits to score 10 runs and seize the upper hand, 12-6. However, in the bottom half, TMS responded with four runs to cut the lead to 12-10.

Chacha’s persistence continued to pay off as they took control of the third inning, drawing walks that brought in runs to reclaim the lead. TMS fought to stay in the game but fell short, managing only four runs before ultimately falling, 16-14.

DMS vs MSC

The first game of the day was claimed by Dandan Middle School, which outscored Mount Carmel School, 16-9.

MCS came out swinging, racking up hit after hit to score four runs in the top of the first inning. However, DMS responded with six runs to take control, 6-4.

MCS kept fighting, adding five more runs in the top of the second inning, but DMS answered with 10 runs in the bottom half to stay in control, 16-9.

Both teams battled fiercely in the next inning, but with neither able to score, time ran out, leaving DMS standing to claim the victory.
