JOE Sasamoto won the Amigos Golf Club’s non-ace tournament with a total net score of 132.
The competition was held together with the Ace of Aces tournament at Laolao Bay Golf & Resort on Dec. 14 and 15
On day 1, Sasamoto played exceptionally well as he sank 13 pars along with four birdies for a gross score of 69. With a handicap of 3, his net score was 66.
Sasamoto’s low handicap proved no disadvantage as he carried his swing into day two, mirroring his initial performance with 13 pars and four birdies to finish with another net score of 66.
With a net total of 132, he secured the non-ace title along with a $120 cash prize.
In second place was Amigos Golf Club President Joe Torres with a total net of 140 followed by Rick Sablan and Alfred Aldan Jr, who shared a net total of 143; Ben Duenas and Ben Jones Sr with a net total of 145; Joe Camacho, Jay Muna, and Syl Ada with net total of 146; Manny Tenorio and Ben Jones Jr. with a net total of 148; Sixtus Aquino with a net total of 151; Francis Mendiola with a net total of 155; Eric Mandell with a net total of 162; and Nick Reyes with a net total of 158.
Also joining the podium finish were the Amigos Cup winner, Nick Deleon Guerrero, followed by Domingo Atalig, Alfred Aldan Joe Sasamoto, and Peter “Dung” Tenorio.
During the annual awards banquet held Friday at the Pepoy’s Cafe & Restaurant, the Amigos Golf Club also announced its list of optional play winners, who received cash prizes.
