TANAPAG Middle School continues to sit at the top of the leaderboard in the girls middle school division of the PSS-NMIVA Interscholastic Volleyball League SY4-25, with four wins and one loss, after defeating Dandan Middle School in a three-set thriller at the Marianas High School gym last Thursday.

In the opening set, TMS asserted their dominance by applying endless pressure offensively and defensively. Ziella and Jonielle Sablan orchestrated the onslaught with a handful of successful returns along with sets that led to spike finishes by Aaleyah Fatialofa and the rest of the team. DMS was barely given room to breathe and was quickly dispatched, 21-7.

In the second set, however, DMS returned to the court more determined. Their undying efforts allowed them to close the gap and eventually take the lead, securing the victory 21-17, and forcing an extra set.

Both teams vigorously fought for control in third and final set but DMS committed costly errors which handed TMS the opportunity to seal the deal, 15-12, and bag their fourth win of the season.

Joining the winner’s circle were Hopwood Middle School, which defeated Chacha Ocean View Middle School, 21-13, 21-15; HMS II, which outhustled DMS II, 22-20, 21-17; and TMS II, which beat COVMS II, 21-15 21-14.
