THE Paire Football Club did not just end Dove Women’s League Fall 2024 season with a perfect record, they also claimed the masters division championship by defeating the Kanoa Football Club in the title match, 4-1, at the NMI Soccer Training Center in Koblerville on Sunday.
Paire performed as expected from start to finish.
Their biggest asset was teamwork as each player on the field contributed toward victory. Within the first few minutes of the opening half, Paire established control of the possession, which soon produced results as Shawna Brennfleck connected the first goal of the day at the 15th minute mark to take the lead, 1-0.
Kanoa recovered and turned the tables 10 minutes later with Mariquit Chavez finding the back of the net to even the score.
However, they were overwhelmed once again by Paire’s continuous aggression, which allowed Natalie Hill-Beyer to finish the play with a quick shot at the 40th minute mark to retain the upper hand, 2-1.
Kanoa did their best to stay in the fight, but they couldn’t keep up defensively. Paire took advantage of the situation with Hill-Beyer scoring her second goal at the 56th minute mark while teammate Lindsay Davis drained the daggering goal just four minutes later to secure victory, 4-1, and the championship.
In the battle for third place, Latte Football Club bested Matansa Football Club, 1-0.
