OPINION ǀ Truth 67: The CNMI’s political, social & economic opioid addiction!

THE Truth of the matter is VP Harris who doesn’t care about the source of a solution had 13 Nobel Economists to look at and approve her Economic Plan, but WE can’t get our Executives to hire ONE Economist — HELLER! The malfeasant behavior in our Politics that WE continues, because WE accept it. Our poor Social quality of life and our Economic decline can best be described as a “political, social & economic opioid addiction”!!! WE have gotten so USE-to our ugly do-nothing politics that WE just accept the malfeasance, which is the REAL problem.  I can remember when there were protests but now that it has gotten WORSE with austerity & taxes protests are nonexistent, it’s the addiction of acceptance. The Government belongs to the People, but WE are entirely too silent, which is why they (our leaders) get away with political murder figuratively. We have people running for RE-ELECTION and they haven’t done SQUAT (nothing), not even a Bill they authored, and they will get reelected, duh! The Governor just issued a continued austerity plan after two years with no protest. Now WE get the same old sob story of Federal Aid after crying in the 902 Talks. But WE need our Economic Engine to be running at full power with a Federally Assisted Economic Recovery Plan, yet WE wonder WHY it’s so bad — “Republican Picnic Table Economics of do nothing and no changes instead of a real Economist developing a PLAN”!

But I can’t put it all on the People (voters), as WE can only vote on what WE have running for office and it’s clear to me that WE are not getting the “cream-of-the-crop,” as they KNOW BETTER and are leaving for the mainland as quick and fast as possible. The burden is clearly on our “young and NEW” to change the mindset of our Government from top to bottom. WE must change our prescription (mind set & leaders) for NEW and BETTER candidates who are truly proactive and aggressive. WE (Democrats & Independents) need people on the mainland who vote to also “run-for-office” as some of our BEST Qualified are now on the mainland. One definition of insanity is “doing the same thing over & over expecting a different result” which is what WE have been doing by re-electing the very same group (GOP) that got us into this economic MESS!  We need MORE like our Mayor RB, Rep. Marrisa Flores and Rep. Ed Propst who do their work EARLY and don’t wait for election season to show-up for what is a Popularity Contest, as WE are not demanding anything from candidates FOR the People. WE get TAYA & Taxes, as the key for success is “informed & active citizens,” Federalist Papers!

The Economic Law of “supply & demand” also rings TRUE with our politics because there is NO real DEMAND for our leaders to fix our economy, so there is no supply (no economist & no economic recovery plan) —  HELP Fabian!  WE must get away from the Republican opioids (Conservatism pills of NO change) that WE have been using for nearly two decades and try the BETTER (Liberalism pills FOR change) to the real Democrats & Independents, not the disguised Republican-Independents. The only Republican in office that I respect with real integrity and is truly about HIS People & solutions regardless of the source is the Republican Mayor on Tinian. WE must send a message to Republicans — “ENOUGH” of their casino ideas after nearly two decades and no Economic Recovery Plan with real Reforms” just like on the mainland — “Enough of Trump & His Crew” who promote “authoritarianism” that WE just experienced with Trump Jr. Ralph!!!

WE are never going to really fix our economy by “happenstance and hoping the Feds/Investors will save us,” as WE need a real Economist — HELLER! I just proved we could make a .5 million swing into the Black in two weeks that the Governor turned down for his relative hurting HIS People. I can run economic circles around the Governor & Legislature which they hate but they are not economists. But their bigotry is always to OUR (everyone’s) detriment, and it even seems acceptable due to OUR political opioid addiction — HELP!  Our leaders are not economists and won’t hire one, especially me, who may know what’s best FOR the CNMI, as they would even rather hire someone from the mainland paying them high six figures to spite me than to let me help — bigotry.  WE have all these intelligent people who should know WE need to hire a real economist but our Republican Governors & Legislature over the past two decades don’t want to share with an economist the credit, the political real estate and the appreciation for fixing and creating a robust economy — narcissistic in their very nature! WE teach students that want to go into leadership that “if you don’t know enough about something to be successful then find or hire one,” it’s clear WE need an Economist to end the Republican Picnic Table Economics Opioid Addiction to fix our Economy — for TRUE our economic salvation is that simple —The KISS Method!
