THIS Thanksgiving season, the Saipan Humane Society, with the generous support of the Banfield Foundation, is expressing its appreciation to the community by offering free Seresto collars for dogs during the Sabalu Market at the Marianas Business Plaza on Saturday, Nov. 23, from 6 a.m. to 10 a.m.

The Seresto collar is a vet-recommended flea and tick prevention tool that offers up to eight months of continuous protection, SHS said in a media release. It is safe for dogs seven weeks and older, and provides a “long-lasting, mess-free option to ensure pets stay comfortable and healthy.”

The giveaway is available while supplies last.

The SHS team said they were “thrilled” by the generous support from Banfield Foundation.

“We are incredibly thankful to the Banfield Foundation for making this event possible, especially as we come together to celebrate Thanksgiving,” said Ruby Ma, clinical director of Saipan Humane Society. “This time of year, we want to give thanks for the animals and families in our community, and we’re excited to help pet owners ensure their dogs stay safe from fleas and ticks.”

Pet owners are likewise invited to visit the SHS clinic to purchase Simparica Trio, a “highly effective heartworm preventative.” This medication also protects dogs against fleas, ticks and intestinal parasites, making it an “essential part of any pet’s health routine,” Ma said.
