ONE N WIN continues to solidify their no. 3 spot in the mix masters division of the Win Pacific Corporation Invitational Basketball League 2024 by beating El Champions, 66-58, at the TSL Sports Complex on Sunday.
One n Win excelled throughout the game.
The first half was led by One n Win point guard Brandon Talania, whose shooting ability posed a threat from all around, scoring nine points within the first 10 minutes of the opening half.
El Champions countered with a more balanced approach focused on ball movement with Clark Catibog and Jelmar Bantaculo at the frontlines.
One n Win took a page out of their opponents’ playbook by allowing more players to contribute such as Vinz Rodriguez and Sonny Ebuen, who shot the lights out from beyond the arc to keep their team afloat, 32-28.
In the second half, El Champions started to gain more confidence from afar, delivering a handful of triples to close the distance.
However, fatigue started to show on the defensive end.
With each missed shot attempt on the part of El Champions, One n Win turned trash into gold through fastbreak opportunities led by Rodriguez, who scored the last 15 points to carry his team to victory, 66-58. He was named Player of the Game.
