THE Matansa Football Club gained their fourth win in the Fall 2024 season of the Marianas Soccer League 1 by outplaying the MP United Football Club, 6-1, at the NMI Soccer Training Center on Sunday.

It was a fairly even match at the start of the first half. But after 19 minutes of back-and-forth action, MPU managed to slip past the cracks of MFC’s defensive walls and set up Isiah Hossain for the finish to seize a one-point lead.

MFC quickly recovered and retaliated thanks to Sunjoon Tenorio, who scored at the 28th minute mark. This was followed by teammate Ariel Narvaez sinking another goal at the 32nd to take the lead, 2-1.

With momentum on their side, MFC established control of the possession with constant pressure on the offensive end. MPU fended off most of the attacks but were eventually worn down by a bombardment of goals.

At the 60th minute mark, Narvaez picked up where he left off with his second contribution followed by teammate Tanapon Unsa’s first goal seven minutes later.

MPU tried to prevent the inevitable, but it did not take long before MFC resumed their onslaught with Monico Claridades and Mareko Tekopua scoring at the 70th and 73rd minute marks to seal the deal, 6-1.
