
(JKPL) — This is to inform the public that the Joeten-Kiyu Public Library will be closed on Wednesday, June 26, 2024, from 9 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. to host its yearly children’s Summer Reading Program. Regular services will resume from 12:30 p.m. to 5 p.m.
Every year JKPL offers a children’s summer program that encourages children to read and is a way to keep your child’s mind active over the summer. Studies show that children who constantly read demonstrate better fluency, vocabulary, and comprehension. Some benefits include: Encouraging lifelong reading habits, supporting reluctant readers, helping children maintain their reading skills, Exercising the brain over the summer, preventing summer learning loss, and improving overall reading skills.
JKPL’s summer hours of operation are as follows: Tuesday to Thursday 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., Friday 1:30 p.m. to 7 p.m., and Saturday 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Closed Sundays, Mondays, and holidays.
