Tinian officials, businesses join UNIFIL in celebrating Philippine Independence Day

LOCAL officials, local residents and businesspersons on Tinian joined the United Filipinos on Tinian or UNIFIL in celebrating the 126th Philippine Independence Day on June 12, 2024.

Among the participating business establishments were JC Café and Restaurant and Black Micro Construction.

JC Café manager Lot Bunao said several other businesses joined the celebration, which was a huge success.

She said JC Café continues to support community events and organizations such as UNIFIL.

UNIFIL, for its part, thanked Tinian Mayor Edwin P. Aldan and his staff, Sen. Jude U. Hofschneider and the members of the Tinian Municipal Council for their support.

Also participating in the event were the Tinian Anti-Tobacco Fitness (Zumba) Program, JC Cafe’s Black Bird Band and about 300 members of the local, Filipino and Bangladesh communities as well guests from the U.S. military.

The UNIFIL officers are President Rodney S. Cabarles, Vice President Joselito C. Lenteja, Secretary Tessa E. Diaz, Treasurer Riza P. Alberio, Auditor Edgar C. Tirona, Business Manager Anacita P. Vergara and Public Relations Officers Mary Susan Perez and Arlene C. Alforque.

The members of the board are Edgard B. Acollador, Corazon T. Cepeda, Tinian Mayor Edwin P. Aldan, Benedicta L. Borja, Jonah G. Lagota and Rowena Advincula.

The group’s advisers are Julita Diaz, Mary Rose Bunao and Frances Ann H. Santos.
