(MVA) — Building on the success of its inaugural race highlighting one of the most picturesque islands of the archipelago, the Marianas Visitors Authority will hold the 2nd Annual Rota Marathon on Jan. 18, 2025, featuring a full marathon, half-marathon and 5K courses.
Eighty-three registrants from as far away as Japan joined last January’s race on Martin Luther King Jr. Day weekend. MVA will open online registration next month with early bird rates for those seeking a memorable race in the captivating and quaint island of Rota.
“Rota is renowned in the Marianas for its stunning nature and friendly community, and all that adds up to a great weekend experience for visitors in Rota Marathon,” said MVA Managing Director Christopher A. Concepcion. “We’ve starting planning this year to give everyone plenty of time to join us for this lovely race. If you’re looking for an escape and a bit of mindfulness, the roadways of Rota Marathon are the place for you!”
Cash prizes will be awarded for top finishers in all races. Mandatory race packet pick-up will be on January 17, 2024, in the late afternoon. Further details will be announced when registration opens at www.mymarianas.com/.
Rota is 30 minutes from Saipan via light aircraft.
