Bio-Pro’s Ryan Bayna takes the uncontested shot during a game in the Destroyers Friendly Games League at the TSL Sports Complex.
IN a thrilling showdown, Bio-Pro outlasted Yabangis, 83-82, in the Destroyers Friendly Games League at the TSL Sports Complex on Sunday.
As the clock wound down, the game reached its climax. With only a few seconds remaining and Yabangis leading by two points, Bio-Pro had possession of the ball. During a nerve-racking inbound play, Bryan Natividad received a pass beyond the three-point line where, despite tight defense, the shooting guard managed to find a clear shot and sank a dramatic triple to seize the lead, 83-82, as the crowd erupted in celebration.
Yabangis still had a chance to win the game, but their last-second attempt fell short.
Throughout the first half, Bio-Pro had the upper hand thanks to the standout performances of its key players. At the frontline was Sonny Ebuen who delivered back-to-back triples and a total of 24 points. With the additional help of Ed “Pitbull” Guinto and Bryan Natividad, the team managed to gain a comfortable double-digit spread, 53-36.
But Yabangis refused to be counted out. Anthony Regaton, who was nowhere to be seen in the initial half, acted as the sparkplug for Yabangis in the second half, scoring eight consecutive points while teammates Paolo Yanto and Prinz Sarroca took over with 14 and 10 points, respectively, to close the distance.
Bio-Pro relied on long-ranged attacks to maintain the upper hand but Erwin Santiago’s three-pointer handed Yabangis the lead, 82-80.
Natividad then responded with a triple to seal the deal for Bio-Pro.
Joining the winner’s circle were NAPA, which stunned Lamesa Kusina, 62-59, and Elite Force, which dominated Vizion Insurance, 104-68.
