THE Braves continue to dominate the 2024 Tan Holdings Saipan Baseball League as they recorded the first no-hitter of the season against the Blue Jays, 8-0, at the Francisco “Tan Ko” Palacios Baseball Field on Tuesday night.

It took three of Braves’ pitchers — Aaron Camacho, Keoni Serrano, and Angelo Igitol — to reach such a rare milestone.

In the top of the opening inning as first at bat, the Braves racked in a handful of runs while the Blue Jays  struggled on the defensive end, committing a handful of errors.

The Braves’ Joel Borja was the first to round the bases as he capitalized off a wild pitch that allowed him and teammate Josenio Borja to bag free runs.

The Braves’ Jylon Sablan and Angelo Igitol then contributed two more runs, earning an RBI each while Sablan stole his way home to extend the deficit, 5-0.

The strong start was what the Braves needed as they carried the momentum over to the defensive end with pitcher Aaron Camacho striking out the first batter. Although he walked two batters, no hits were recorded as he struck out another  while the third out was highlighted by the shortstop for a 3-6 play to close the inning.

The Braves were silenced in the next three innings, but the Blue Jays suffered the same fate as Camacho continued his stellar performance from the mound with five strikeouts and, with the help of the infield, prevented the Blue Jays from getting a single hit.

Then, in the top of the fifth inning, the Braves scored off two defensive errors to further stretch the gap.

In the bottom half, a pitching change was made by the Braves with Keoni Serrano taking over the mound.

A Blue Jays runner managed to reach third base, but the Braves outfield caught a flyball that was followed by a pick off by the infield and a strikeout.

Serrano pitched for another inning, earning another strikeout while the rest of the Braves took care of the other two outs.

The Braves the scored a solo run in the top of the six for an 8-0 lead.

After the Blue Jays successfully denied any runs in the top of the seventh and final inning, the Braves decided to make one last pitching change, subbing out Serrano for Angelo Igitol, who sealed the deal with three consecutive strikeouts and record the first no-hitter of the season, 8-0.
