REMEMBER Bill Maher’s “Politically Incorrect” TV program on ABC that was cancelled by conservatives after Maher said the following on air on September 17, 2001: “We have been the cowards, lobbing cruise missiles from 2,000 miles away, that’s cowardly. Staying in the airplane when it hits the building, say what you want about it, not cowardly.” For that, Maher was fired by ABC.
Bill Maher was the canary in the 21st Century American mainstream media coal mine, and since then (especially after October 7, 2023) First Amendment protections have only been weakened even further by anti-freedom fascist elements within the American body politic. Think of all the outspoken truth tellers over the past couple of decades who were canceled for the crime of pointing out the obvious facts that snowflakes just can’t handle and therefore desperately attempt to suppress through coercion and intimidation.
Why would we as a society ever want to allow emotionally fragile, anti-Free Speech extremists to shut down honest discussion of the most important issues of the day just so that their delusional worldview is protected? Or how about these young adults being sent from their gated communities straight to overpriced universities for the privileged with the expectation that they will never hear a negative word about Israel or its ongoing genocide against Palestinian civilians?
If overhearing heated criticism of a lying, bloodthirsty, warlike nation like Israel by one of your young classmates isn’t for you, then perhaps beauty school would be best.
