ELEMENTARY school students continue to show that they are the future of sports by performing well in the fourth round of the PSS All School Track & Field (Athletics) SY23-24 at the Oleai Sports Complex on Saturday morning.
In the 1500m event, Beau Bauer gave spectators a great show as he led the U12 boys division with a come-from-behind finish.
Initially, Tinian’s Joaquin Adriano and Francisco Moses were in the lead, but in the final leg, Grace Christian Academy’s Bauer found his second wind and bolted toward the front of the competition to secure first place with a time of 6:21.00.
Tinian’s Adriano and Moses came in second and third at 6:23.00 and 6:23.47 respectively while Garapan Elementary School’s Even Poole and Tinian’s Miran Tamang filled the top 5.
Sharing the spotlight was Oleai Elementary School, which nearly dominated the U9 age group.
The U9 girls division’s top three finishers were all from Oleai. Hannah Neyoaraen led the list with a time of 8:33.05 followed by Mitchiko Laniyo at 8:34.25 and Nevanah Camacho at 8:35.66
In the U9 boys division, Koblerville Elementary School’s Stoney Moses finished first with a time of 6:59.15 while OES’ Aldrick Rodeo and Gideon Libante came in second and third at 7:14.36 and 7:14.73, respectively.
