Tars Olopai
TARS Olopai topped the Refaluwasch Golf Association’s March Ace of the Month Tournament with a two-day net score of 138 at LaoLao Bay Golf & Resort.
In the qualifier round on March 9, Olopai shot 5-over par with a gross of 41 on the front nine. On the back nine, he tweaked his swing to start off with a bridie and drained two more to end with a gross of 38 for a total gross score of 79. With a handicap of 10, his net score was 69.
In the ace round on March 16, he ended with a gross of 41 with no birdies on the front nine. He adjusted his game accordingly on the back nine where he sank two birdies to end with a gross of 38 for a total gross score of 79 and a net score of 69.
With a combined net score of 138, Olopai clinched the RGA March Ace of the Month title.
In second place was Carl Hocog who shot a net score of 68 on day 1 and 71 on day 2 for a two-day net score of 139.
In the optional play, the closest to the pin awards during the qualifier round were claimed by Manny Mangerero for hole #3, Joe Camacho for hole #7, Ben Jones Sr. for hole #13, and Darion Jones for hole #17. In the ace round, Louie Tilipao led the list for hole #4 while James Palajadia claimed holes #7, #11, #15.
